General Information

Our Weekly Schedule
Guests join us on Saturday & have the day on their own to explore the local fishing. We begin guiding on Sunday & explore the opportunities on the Lower Aniak. Monday we fish all day as we make our way to our Upper River Camp.
Our staff will join you for great fishing at the Upper River Camp on the Aniak, from Monday night thru Friday morning.
You'll fish your way back down to Aniak Friday. We finish our week down at the Lodge with a great send-off dinner courtesy of our Chef.

The Lodge
Our Lodge is a comfortable waterfront facility in the village of Aniak. The village is a busy hub for the Yukon-Kuskokwim area during the summer. Guests stay in our main Lodge, or in one of two fully appointed cabins on our property. Upon your arrival, you can enjoy great Salmon fishing right on the beach in front of the Lodge. Saturday is your day to enjoy the local fishing on the Kuskokwim. We've had folks hook into hundreds of Silvers & Chum right next to our boats!

Upper River Camp

Our tent camp is about 40 miles upriver on the Aniak. A stay at the comfortable outpost is the highlight of the week for our clientele. In addition to hot/cold running water & excellent shower facilities; you'll enjoy a great dining area, a generator for charging camera batteries, & carpeted weatherport tents with individual cots, sleeping bags, fresh linen, & mosquito nets.We strive to make your wilderness experience a satisfiying & comfortable adventure! Our entire staff will join you at the camp, Mon. night thru Fri. am. & can accomodate any needs that may arise.
The Chef will deliver great meals in a remote camp setting, sure to please after a long day out on the river.

Fishing the Aniak Area with ARL

We share a Catch & Release philosophy here at ARL. However, for those that would like to keep fish to take home, we have vaccum processing & boxing available at the Lodge. ARL abides by & respects all legal limits on the waters we fish. We recommend viewing the AK Dept of Fish & Game Link on our website under Photos & More for the most accurate information on Catch Limits.

Climate
June through August daytime temperatures range from 50F to 90F with the possibility of rain. August through September daytime temperatures range from 30F to 70F with the possibility of rain.

Clothing
Be prepared for a full range of weather conditions, from warm and sunny
to cool and wet. Layered polypropylene and fleece is best - limit the amount of cotton in your outdoor-fishing clothes. Long and short sleeve shirts are recommended, along with shorts and high quality rain hat and jacket. Additional items would be wool or fleece gloves, comfortable camp shoes and personal toiletries.

Wading

Fishing days will include Boat Drifting and Wading. Good, high quality chest waders are a must. Footwear should be felt-soled and, if you feel more comfortable with a wading staff, bring one, although most wading is easy and safe.

Miscellaneous
High quality polarized sun glasses and insect repellent with DEET.

Note
Aniak River Lodge will not be held responsible for loss or damage of
personal property, injury to participants, cancellations, or incur any costs resulting from delays due to unpredictable weather conditions.
